David Simchi-Levi is a Professor of Engineering Systems at MIT and serves as the head of the MIT Data Science Lab.  He is considered one of the premier thought leaders in supply chain management and business analytics.

His Ph.D. students have accepted faculty positions in leading academic institutes including U. of California Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon U., Columbia U., Duke U., Georgia Tech, Harvard U., U. of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, U. of Michigan, Purdue U. and Virginia Tech.

Professor Simchi-Levi is the current Editor-in-Chief of Management Science, one of the two flagship journals of INFORMS. He served as the Editor-in-Chief for Operations Research (2006-2012), the other flagship journal of INFORMS and for Naval Research Logistics (2003-2005).

In 2020, he was awarded the prestigious INFORMS Impact Prize for playing a leading role in developing and disseminating a new highly impactful paradigm for the identification and mitigation of risks in global supply chains.

He is an INFORMS Fellow and MSOM Distinguished Fellow and the recipient of the 2020 INFORMS Koopman Award given to an outstanding publication in military operations research; Ford Motor Company 2015 Engineering Excellence Award; 2014 INFORMS Daniel H. Wagner Prize for Excellence in Operations Research Practice; 2014 INFORMS Revenue Management and Pricing Section Practice Award; and 2009 INFORMS Revenue Management and Pricing Section Prize.

He was the founder of LogicTools which provided software solutions and professional services for supply chain optimization. LogicTools became part of IBM in 2009. In 2012 he co-founded OPS Rules, an operations analytics consulting company. The company became part of Accenture in 2016. In 2014, he co-founded Opalytics, a cloud analytics platform company focusing on operations and supply chain decisions. The company became part of the Accenture Applied Intelligence in 2018.

Food Engineer graduated in 2003. Started my carrier in Unilever working in different areas of supply chain. 2 year in manufacturing where I became TPM instructor certified by JIPM in Japan. This knowledge I apply until today in order to understand the root causes of any issue and define measures to solve it. Another 6 year in supply planning and demand planning in Ice Cream business were I also got my CPIM APICS certification. The opportunity to work in different areas that were part of a typical S&OP in a company that is well-known as best in class in this process made me a true believer of the benefits of this process. In 2012, I changed to Robert Bosch to lead the supply chain for Power Tools in LA and do the S&OP implementation in the region. 2016, I moved to Germany to take the global responsibility for the Measuring Tool business units and also to implement the S&OP but in with a global scope this time. In parallel with my carrier, I made a specialization in Supply Chain Management by IBMEC University in Brazil. I also made a MBA by FDC and FGV in Brazil, each one with different approach, first more focus in preparing to lead people and second focusing more in how to implement process to manage efficiently a multinational business.

Leon is a charismatic leader, with extensive experience within the Automotive Industry covering tier 1, 2 and 3 companies. Leon is a visionary and a relentless catalyst for change, with a proven implementation track record built on an unremitting Customer First approach and a passion for People Development realised through investing in self-managing High Performing Teams.

Leon moved into his first leadership role in 1999 as Managing Director at Kwik Fit in South Africa. In 2002 he moved to Kwik Fit Group in Europe, where he assumed the duties of Group Product and Services Director to move the from fast fit company to Europe’s largest independent group of IAM workshops.

In 2011 he joined First Stop Europe, Bridgestone’s own brand tyre stores, as European Managing Director based in Belgium, he managed around 2,000 company owned and franchise tyre stores operating in 25 countries, whilst concurrently holding the position of Vice President of Retail Europe at Bridgestone Europe, where his key responsibility was for the Retail Family Channel strategic direction. He was a member of the European Executive Management team and the Global Marketing and Retail Committees.

Leon joined Toyota Motor Europe in 2014 as Vice President of After Sales, he managed After Sales in 52 countries for 3,300 Franchised Toyota and Lexus Retailers. He also managed the EU service parts distribution through over 20 warehouses. In 2017 his responsibilities expanded to cover the entire value chain driving the “vehicle life time value” strategy, by leading all the post vehicle sale teams, including Customer Experience & Retention, Aftersales, Warranty, Used Car, Finance and Insurance teams whilst continuing to manage the total service parts supply chain.

In 2019 Leon assumed the position as Vice President of Logistics, where his mission is to, “Exceed Customers expectations by delivering the right product at the right time, with the shortest lead-time through a sustainable, lean integrated supply chain for Production Parts (inbound), Finished Vehicle and Service parts Logistics, delivering as 15% cost reduction, with a 40% volume increase, with a team members in 25 countries, with logistics movements across 120 countries.

In addition, he serves as Chairman of Board and Director of various Toyota subsidiaries and is a member of Toyota’s Global Strategic management teams for accessories, parts and logistics.

Martin has worked in the manufacturing sector for over 30 years, designing and delivering solutions in both process and discrete industries. He is an indentured apprentice in the nuclear industry with UKAEA, has worked offshore in the oil industry, and for the last 15 years with the UK aerospace industry. His knowledge covers everything from the control domain through to SaaS business models based on cloud and mobile technologies.

Sebastian Sołtys – associated with LPP for 14 years. Currently, he is responsible for the global supply and distribution network of LPP Group, one of the most dynamically developing companies in the clothing industry in Central and Eastern Europe, which annually distributes over 259 million items of clothing to 30 markets worldwide.

The beginning of his career at LPP was marked by supervision of the construction project of the Group’s first distribution centre– the facility currently ranked among the largest and most modern of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, ensuring smooth deliveries to the stationary sales network of Reserved, House, Mohito, Cropp, and Sinsay brands. As Director of the distribution centre, he was responsible for the concepts of the facility’s advanced automation.

In the following years, he held the position of Supply Chain Management Director supervising the creation of forwarding processes and international distribution of LPP to over 20 countries. Then, as Director of Foreign Logistics, he was responsible for setting up LPP Group’s foreign logistics structures and launching the Group’s first foreign warehouse located in Russia.

From 2018 to 2019, he held the position of CEO of VGL Group, a logistics operator, and subsequently rejoined LPP Group, where he currently holds the position of Logistics Director. He manages LPP’s global omnichannel logistics processes and the logistics network of seven LPP Distribution Center and Fulfillment Center facilities located in four European countries.

Simon was appointed VP, Head of Operational Strategy for Oxford Biomedica in April 2021, where his principal focus has been defining the manufacturing digital strategy - key to this work is the introduction of electronic batch records and digital systems to facilitate faster batch review time and improved data integrity.  Simon is also leading the concept design of OXB’s next planned expansion project.

Simon joined OXB in August 2013, leading the Manufacturing team through three previous capacity expansions and overseeing the growth of the team by over 20-fold.  His achievements include OXB being approved as the world’s first commercial manufacturer of a lentiviral vector, significantly reducing the cost of goods by improving process robustness,  and implementing the manufacture of the AZ/Oxford University vaccine in less than 4 months.

Simon takes an active participation in training and development at Oxford Biomedica. He introduced apprenticeships into OXB in conjunction with the CGTC Advanced Therapies Apprenticeship Community. Simon is also the first senior leader sponsor of a Management Development Programme cohort.

As a PhD trained Organic Chemist, Simon previously worked for Pfizer and SAFC pharma.

Uwe has more than 25 years experience in the manufacturing environment and with industrial software and automation products. He spent 5 years as an application engineer with Schiess a major manufacturer of heavy machine tool builder before he started to be involved of developing the first Industrial pc´s and the use of pc equipment to control and optimize palletize systems. Prior to Incuity and Wonderware, Uwe has built up the sales area for an engineering company and sold automation solution to all kinds of manufacturing segments. After running his own business Uwe joined Wonderware in 1994 as regional sale manager in the west part of Germany. 1995 he moved to the head quarter in the US to develop the OEM program. In this timeframe Uwe gained also international expirience in Asia. Since 1997 he was leading the sales organization of the German operation including the ERP and Maintenance sales which came through Wonderware in 1999. January 2001 he took over the position as managing director in Scandinavia where he was building up the new entity which was created in April 2001 with a clear focus on adding value to their customers business. In 2003 Uwe became the additional responsibility of the German operation as Managing Director. April 2005 he exepted the position as Director Business Development and Marketing EMEA where he was responsible for extending the established markets and grow new emergency market segments or area. Together with his Marketing manager he developed the marketing strategies for Wonderware in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His primary goal was to grow significant the business in EMEA as well as identifying new potential business segments. Since Jan 2014 Uwe was also appointed to the Chairman of the EMEA board of Mesa International a non profitable association focusing since more than 20 years on Manufacturing. Uwe Kueppers is married and has a son and a daughter.
